Thanks zm8 for your new effort. However, I found out that, in the 0.71 version it support to remember the previous chosen lang., but in your one is not? I’ve tried to combine between 2 index.htm files but not success

I finally get a little improvement. Any newline not at beginning or end should not be replaced or deleted. And any space/newline at beginning or end should be deleted.
And the matrix seems to work now.
Noticeably, your WikiToTomeToolGenerateMathImage.pl does not work the same way as the wikisrvd does. The former one deals with not-yet-decoded xml(i.e. <math>) but the latter one should be fed with decoded strings.

Hi,

If somebody is interested in the math images on wiki2touch running
on ipod/iphone 2.* : (the Cynthia version from zm8)

If have replaced all math text by the math formula image fileid.
( So for only for DE …)

run dewiki…connected thru the indexer from Tom
and upload the resulting article_de.bin to your iPod/iPhone-

Works great on my iPhone.

I checked the first matix in the german article
Matrix (Mathematik).

The Math Text

is reduced to

(No leading or ending blanks, no line breaks… )

I replaced in the dump source all math texts by image references.
It finds all images correctly but the image size is not correct (yet).

I tried to show most of the math formula. Most of checksums are consistent with those from the dump at www.infodisiac.com, however, I cannot make anything containing a matrix to work.

Is there anything special to calculate the md5 of matrix? I removed space from beginning and/or end of string inside of . Shall I remove or keep the last ‘.’?

Thanks for your information. My sole reference is WikiToTomeToolGenerateMathImages.pl and it seems that the full stop ‘.’ and newline are also removed.

About the toolchain, I built it from official SDK according to Saurik’s guide. I have a dump of all /usr/include files as large as 16MB, but I also see some people using another 1.3MB headers, which is claimed to be used with (the slow) gcc on iPhone. You can get it here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=76UM2SKK

However, I would suggest to build a cross compiler on linux because the >=10x speed difference.
